The Beaver Vest. Because we felt the world needed a Beaver Vest.

A quilted, zip-up gender neutral vest with a beaver embroidered on the left chest. Wear it over a tee in October, under a flannel in January, and make strangers smile at you in line at the hardware store.

It is part of the IYKYK collection, our queer coded pieces that read as a friendly animal to most people and as something else entirely to the ones who know.

Boxy and easy through the body, with a curved hem that sits just below the hip and a zip-through collar that covers your neck when the wind picks up. Zippered hand pockets, deep enough for a phone and keys. No darts, no shaping, nothing that assumes anything about your chest: androgynous outerwear that just lets you wear it.

Warm without the bulk. Light insulation takes the edge off without turning you into a marshmallow, and the water repellent finish means a surprise drizzle is not a crisis.

Sizing: this one runs large. If you are between sizes, or you are not sure, size down. The chart below is the garment as measured, but the roomy cut means most people land a size smaller than they expect.

To measure: run a tape under your arms around the fullest part of your chest, arms down, tape level. Then remember: when in doubt, size down.

Care. Zip it all the way up, turn it inside out, machine wash cold on its own. No bleach, tumble dry low, skip the iron, and keep it away from fabric softener.
